Following what seems like quite a wait the Maternity arm of the Perinatal Network has successfully appointed lead clinicians and the team is now complete.
Mary Davie is an experienced Midwife currently working with Healthcare Improvement Scotland, and Tara Fairley is a Consultant Obstetrician in Grampian. Find out more about the Maternity Network team here.
Initial meetings with the wider programme team have been very productive and we fully acknowledge that the success of the network is dependent upon its work being guided by the maternity community. Maternity services work in a crowded landscape of policy, strategy and guidance and the Network will need to co-exist within this, avoiding duplication and adding value. We believe the best way to do this is to listen to colleagues and service users and to move forward together in a spirit of co-production and pragmatism with women and their families at the heart of all we do.
With this aim in mind, we are planning a series of visits across Scotland to meet clinical teams, and listen to the issues facing colleagues and service users. These insights will inform our future activities and we look forward to working closely with many of you as work progresses. Look out for our visit schedule on the website and be sure to come and say hello. In the meantime, if you have any questions or are interested in becoming involved please do get in touch.
Thank you
