Alex Brown

Assistant Programme Manager
Specialist Services & Screening
NHS National Services Scotland

I moved to Edinburgh in 2019 after a few years working in Australia and New Zealand for third sector projects supporting people with learning disabilities to find jobs and housing and others focusing on children’s access to education. For the past 4 years I worked alongside the Scottish Government’s Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Programme Board, which has given me a broad insight into policy, mental health and wellbeing, perinatal, infant and lived experience engagement contexts. The Programme Board closed earlier this year and I was delighted to join the SPN team in July to manage the implementation stage of the Scottish Maternity Engagement project.

When I’m not working, I love to be outside and can almost always be found in my garden, at the beach or on a hike. I have a positive outlook and I’m looking forward to this experience of being involved in the development of Maternity services across Scotland.
